The Last Physical Copy of Sjö, free. 02 Feb 2011
Here in my hands, I have the last available copy of Sjö, (limited edition of 7) and I’ve decided that the first person to e-mail me at esi@esi.is, claiming the copy, will receive it free of charge. If for some reasons no e-mail will be received by the end of this week (sunday, midnight GMT) then it will be included in a random order on any other release of mine in the near future.
To refresh your memories, here’s the description of the release.
Seven sketches, conceived, composed and recorded with the limitation of one song per day. An experiment to get back into recording after quite a trying move to another country.
To accompany the digital release, a physical cassette with hand-painted paper sleeve (each sleeve being unique) was made in a Limited run of 7 copies.
released 24 December 2010

Susannah's Soundtrack Released 15 Jan 2011
Soundscapes, recorded around 2008/2009 for an interactive (video game) project that went by the name “Susannah”. An experiment in how far one could go by stripping the elements of a video game down to its bare essentials of mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics, while in the meantime, showcasing the importance and the purpose of audial elements in interactive entertainment.
Set in a bleak sterile world of white, where nothing existed except disturbingly pure visuals, the game followed the avatar’s journey through the bleak levels of the world, which the soundtrack accompanied, to migrate and merge to the unknown entity which called for him.
The game only reached a prototype stage where it was showcased at an exhibition in Verksmiðjan, Hjalteyri (Iceland) in 2009. The soundtrack was supposed to be released alongside the game, but given the fact that the project was put on the shelf shortly after the prototype was finished the soundtrack started collecting dust. Until now.
Susannah’s Soundtrack is released digitally as “pay what you want”. In other words, you choose if you want to download it for free, or support my work financially on future projects.
Sjö 24 Dec 2010
It’s the time of feasting, giving, the time of short days and long nights, so it seems to be quite fitting to celebrate with a small release. The following is a small “experimental” release I did after my move to Sweden last August. Released mainly digitally as “pay what you want” with no minimum amount. In other words, it’s free if you want it.
Seven sketches, conceived, composed and recorded with the limitation of one song per day. An experiment to get back into recording after quite a trying move.
To accompany the digital release, a physical cassette with hand-painted paper sleeves (each sleeve being unique) was made in a Limited run of 7 copies and will not (at least not for now) be sold online.

3 copies left of the Fermentæ/Ziz split, Midwinter Sessions '08 (Repress) 03 Dec 2010
Recorded, edited and arranged during the winter solstice of 2008, and originally released in March 2009. Because of growing interest in this release we have decided to re-release this realization of two contrasting-perspectives on the midwinter concept from the foggy and winding hills of San Francisco to the bleak and spacious highlands of Iceland.
Four tracks, over 60 minutes of dark-ambient dronescapes, spectral riffing and eerie field-recordings; compiled, captured and composed by Kevin Gan. Yuen (FERMENTÆ) and Jóhannes G. Þorsteinsson (Ziz). Hand-assembled and hand-numbered, black-bottom CD-r’s, screen-printed with metallic-bronze inks and packaged in resealable poly-sleeves.
Grab them at the store before they are gone (digital purchase also available for $4) or contact me directly at esi@esi.is
Midwinter Sessions '08 on Bandcamp 15 Nov 2010
Both the digital and physical version of Midwinter Sessions ‘08 are now available on Ziz’ bandcamp page.
Midwinter Sessions ‘08 was a split between Ziz and Fermentæ (US) done in 2008 and originally released in 2009 and then re-released in 2009 in different packaging. Below is the original description.
> Four tracks, over 60 minutes of dark-ambient dronescapes, spectral riffing and eerie field-recordings; compiled, captured and composed by **Kevin Gan. Yuen (FERMENTÆ)** and **Jóhannes G. Þorsteinsson (Ziz)**. Hand-assembled and hand-numbered, black-bottom CD-r's, screen-printed with metallic-bronze inks and packaged in resealable poly-sleeves.
Also, keep your eyes open on this site for releases in the near future. Some unreleased material will make its way here soon!
