My experience, S has now been released on itch.io, with a lot of help from Kyle Halladay in polishing and adding to the game. S can be said to be the spiritual successor to my 2009 game Susannah that I put up online just recently. You can download the game for free on itch.io although it would be quite awesome if you would decide to donate couple of dollars for a cup of coffee or more so I can keep on making games.

I have finally uploaded my first ever finished game from 2009, my debut into game development. OSX and Windows version available, Linux version in progress. All this time I’ve been fooling myself and letting this game collect dust, always telling myself that it was not good enough or I was going to fix this and that. But now it’s time to say good bye to this beauty and get the weight off my back.

Description
My first ever finished game, a final project during my art studies at VMA in 2008/2009.
An experiment in how far one can go by stripping the elements of a video game down to its bare essentials of mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics, while in the meantime, showcasing the importance and the purpose of audial elements in interactive entertainment.
Set in a bleak sterile world of white, where nothing exists except the disturbingly pure visuals, the game follows the avatar’s journey through the bleak levels of the world, accompanied by a soundtrack, to migrate and merge to the unknown entity which called for him.
Susannah was showcased at the Þrír í Þriðja exhibition in Verksmiðjan, Hjalteyri (Iceland) in 2009.

I am forwarding this message from a dear friend, Kevin Yuen, of the band Sutekh Hexen who recently ran into some problems with their music label which decided to rerelease one of their records without their permission. They kindly ask you to not buy this unofficial bootleg pressing of their LP “Luciform” from the record label, Wands.
Following is the official statement from the source:
It has come to our attention through colleagues that former label, WANDS in Bakersfield, CA, have recently reissued SUTEKH HEXEN’s “Luciform” LP for Record Store Day without the band’s authorization. We have heard various accounts that “he has had a horrible reputation for doing this.”
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SUPPORT this “third” pressing of our “Luciform” LP. Observations of odd pressing numbers have already shown their intent to capitalize on our art through Ebay and Discogs. Again: this pressing was not approved by the active band, nor were we contacted in any way before this LP was sent into production.
The end result of their greed and deception shines the brightest light on individuals who need to fact-check information before they choose to damage their reputations further. With public, personal attacks, an already negative track-record of missing merch shipments, and poor record-label etiquette, it was a conscious effort to sever ties with these misinformed individuals very early on.
We are not concerned with the ramblings, because they continually perpetuate the immature and negative qualities of a small world. The supporters and people that we work with understand the amount of time and hard work that we dedicate to making things happen.
In closing: the band has been working on a proper mix and mastering treatment, with superior presentation, for an OFFICIAL release of LUCIFORM later in the year.

1GAM March, Synapse 01 Apr 2013
For the third installment of the “One Game a Month” Challenge, I bring you Synapse! It is probably the most interesting #1GAM project I’ve participated in so far from my perspective. It is purely a tech experiment so I can’t promise the playing experience will be enjoyable. To be honest, some of the sounds are horrible for a reason. This project was our first try at implementing and using procedural sounds through Pure Data and libpd which resulted in a lot of weird sounds. Kyle Halladay went overboard with the shaders and I went overboard with the procedural sounds. Although, the sample displayed above is purely sample based and implemented in the interactive experience the old fashioned way.
WASD to walk, Space to Jump, Collect Power Sources (black cubes) and bring them to synapses to progress. Sound is a bit abrasive so it may be best to start with your volume low (for the sake of your speakers).
PS: We tried making a Linux version but it didn’t seem to like our procedural sounds.
